Our client is a Kolkata based company which offers life insurance consultancy services to its clients with different types of policies of multiple insurance companies like LICI, Star Health, SBI, Magma etc. It has huge number of agents (around 7 lakh) and 300 branches in India.

Our client used to maintain the branch-wise business data on excel and tally sheets. But the head office officials could not view or track the business on a daily basis. They had to wait for updates through mails from the different branches and the head office. So it was a long and time consuming procedure. They also could not track and maintain huge records.

We interacted with our client and reviewed their whole manual process and prepared a robust web system. We understood the problem could be solved with development of multiple websites with effective organizational features.

Solution Offered to Client:

  • We prepared multiple websites separately for LICI, Star Health, and others.
  • For the agents we made a different system. With an API every insurance company could share information with the agent. At the time of submission an agent code was needed for validation and we did it through an API. So the agent could share the data and interact with other insurance company sites.
  • The procedure, attributes and policies of every insurance company is different. Hence we had built characteristic sites accordingly.
  • Branches could generate the daily Pay-in-Slips. And they could track how many notes of amount 2000, 500, 100, 50, 20, and 10 they collected each day. They could also track the PIS of Cheques and Drafts.
  • After PIS the branch could dispatch the details to Hub and the Hub could dispatch it to the insurance company. And head office could track it with a single click.

  • Server side scripting language: PHP 5.6
  • Client side scripting language: CSS 3, jQuery 1.10
  • Database: MySQL 5.5

Our solution was deployed on a highly secured Linux server having very good configuration to cater multiple user access at a time.

  • This web solution reduced the manual works of the client remarkably.
  • Multiple users (branch, hub, head office) could have access to the information at different levels.
  • Helped in easy tracking of business transactions and their related information.
  • With a system named SP tagging, policy holders could upload documents like address proof, age proof etc.
  • The management or other authorized users could easily download the scanned copy of the documents, if needed.
  • Helped in easy business renewal process.
  • Easy generation of different kind of reports.
  • This was a fixed fee as well as an on-demand project. The client has been taking our services since the year 2012 till present.
