Requirement Statement

Biblesatcost as the name suggests deals with bibles, and other books related to Jesus Christ and Christianity as a whole. They supply bibles to different churches and institutions and also deal with a retail business of bibles, related books, audios, videos, etc. They now wanted to ease this business and also expand their retail base by making a website wherefrom users/purchasers can purchase their bibles, related books, etc.

They wanted to ensure that the transactions and user related information were extremely secure for prevention of any potential fraud or information leakage. They also wanted to promote some products and categories in the system.

Moreover, they needed a complete control over their product information, customer information, order related information and other display related information through an advanced control panel that allows customized reporting & other important logs.

Solutions Offered

A secure e-commerce system was prepared wherefrom users wishing to purchase their products will be able to visit the site, search for their desired product by searching from category or product related info from a comprehensive searching facility provided therein. The listing page contained the product related info for the site visitor with option to add the product to the cart or view details of that product. From this details page also the user could add that item to the cart. There was a basket page where all the products the user had selected for buying would be displayed. Items in the cart could be added, deleted; quantity of any product to be ordered could be modified from the cart page itself.

Once the selection is complete, the user could go to checkout. For making payment, the users needed to login with their email and password or register with the system by filling up a simple form. All these account related information and all payment related part that followed after that was fully secured with a 128 bit SSL encryption. So, all the confidential information of the client and his payment related information was secured, which was an essence of the project.

The system administrator had been provided with a control panel, which was a secure one, where the administrator was to be authenticated. In this section he could manage the products and all related info. He could set a product as featured product to highlight that product in user side. Also there was a concept of super sale chart where few products set from admin would come along with their discounted prices shown up. Also all order logs, customer related info, controlling of content of several pages like: about us, privacy policies, etc were to be managed.
